I enjoyed Hillary Clinton’s interview with Stephen Colbert, but what most made me happy was that, in criticizing Trump’s UN speech, she said that it wasn’t “…the kind of message that the leader of the greatest nation in the world should be delivering.” I was glad that she didn’t say “the leader of ‘the free world.'” Evidently, Clinton has enough of a sense of history to avoid that anachronistic shibboleth. Or else, maybe, she just read my post.
I’m not interested in re-litigating the 2016 campaign and I don’t plan to read Hillary’s memoir, but if you’re interested in hearing two opposing partisans slug it out, you can take a look at this exchange in The Nation.
