Just a quick post today, to pass on an important reading recommendation. Vox’s Matt Yglesias has sketched out a grim view of the prospects for Trump‘s America, focusing not so much on policy as on the threats that a Trump administration poses to democratic values and institutions. To be fair: Yglesias presents no hard evidence that Trump is planning the many bad things that Yglesias sees coming. Rather, Yglesias projects his dystopian vision from what we know of Trump’s predilections and values and from the massive potential for abuse of power that lies in the intersection of Trump’s business empire with government power. It’s all very plausible, and scary.
